Extraction oil production is a method of oil extraction that applies the principles of extraction. It involves the use of an organic solvent capable of dissolving fats and oils. This solvent comes into contact with the oil-bearing material through processes like soaking or spraying, extracting the oil from the material. Oil Extraction Process

After pre-treatment, the pre-pressed cakes of sunflower seeds are conveyed into the sunflower oil extractor through conveying equipment. After solvent extraction, concentrated mixed meal and wet meal are obtained.

Wet Meal Desolventizing Process

Typically, the sunflower cake meal obtained from the sunflower oil extractor contains around 25% to 35% solvent content. It must undergo a desolventizing process to recover these solvents and obtain higher-quality meal.

Process Parameters:
- In the first layer of the desolventizing toaster, where the meal contains more solvent, it is advisable to maintain the temperature at 65-75°C.
- The temperature in the second layer should be controlled at around 85°C.
- Steam is directly injected into both the first and second layers, with a steam injection rate of 5-6 kg per ton of material.
- From the third layer to the last layer, indirect heating is applied using jacketed heating, with steam pressure set at 0.6-0.8 MPa, and the temperature ranging from 100-105°C.
- The outlet of the desolventizing toaster must be sealed.
- The desolventizing time is 40 minutes.
- The temperature of the meal when it enters storage should be below 40°C.
- Product meal quality requirements include: no solvent odor, passing the ignition test, moisture content below 12%, well-cooked meal without scorching or charring.

Miscella Oil Treatment Process

The oil obtained from the sunflower oil extractor is a mixture of sunflower crude oil and solvent, with a concentration typically ranging from 10% to 40%. In order to obtain sunflower crude oil, we need to process the mixed oil by steam-stripping the solvent. The equipment used for this process includes the 1st stage evaporator, the 2nd stage evaporator, and the stripping tower.
